Mission Statement
The Positive Health website was created to provide life affirming information for people diagnosed with 'HIV and AIDS.' The website is an initiative by a group of HIV positive individuals who believe there are constructive, life affirming responses to a diagnosis of 'HIV or AIDS.' This involves a thoughtful examination of issues associated with chronic illness as well as a focus on effective, non toxic remedies. Many people are thriving with HIV and are leading healthy, productive lives in spite of their diagnosis.
Unfortunately, people living with 'HIV and AIDS' are represented by physicians and organisations who do not empower them with the full breadth of health information or treatment options. While we do not seek to undermine the efforts of individual AIDS workers, we do encourage people to consider different perspectives in the AIDS debate.
Contrary to popular belief, the reality of 'HIV and AIDS' is still subject to examination and few truths have been established. There is still on going debate about the actual nature of the condition, how it affects the human body and how it should be treated. There are several inconsistencies in the science regarding HIV testing and treatment as well as the links between 'HIV and AIDS.'
Also, there is a strong media and industry focus upon negative ideas despite the positive experiences of many individuals and we seek to provide an alternative resource which is not biased by mainstream media, AIDS organisations or pharmaceutical motives.
The Positive Health website seeks to make people who test positive aware of the options available for restoring health through an information resource that challenges the traditionally accepted model that HIV=AIDS=Death.
The Website's Aims
Create a forum for open public discussion of information that challenges popular belief about 'HIV and AIDS'
A great deal of AIDS related media is biased, outdated and harmful. An alternative voice is needed to counteract this.
Promote informed choice with regard to HIV testing and treatments
Doctors are still handing down 'death sentences' to newly diagnosed people and causing a great deal of distress with misleading information. People are being medicated far too prematurely, without being informed of serious side effects. The discrepancies associated with Viral Load and T Cell tests are not being explained to patients. These factors are responsible for causing anxiety and ill health.
Advocate Holistic Health Care
It is clear that many issues associated with 'HIV and AIDS' may be addressed using natural therapies such as dietary changes, Chinese medicine and Acupuncture, for example. The efficacy of these therapies is being suppressed in favour of promoting toxic medical interventions.
Separate Fear From the Facts Through Realistic Portrayals of Living with 'HIV and AIDS '
Most of the images circulated in the public domain about 'HIV and AIDS' are deliberately fear based and misleading. There's a need to create a new voice with an optimistic, life affirming message to break down stigma.
Question the HIV=AIDS=DEATH Paradigm
Being diagnosed with HIV does not guarantee a person will develop AIDS and certainly does not mean that a death sentence is inevitable. This is still a well disguised fact which the public needs to be educated about.
